Robber gets night deposit bag in Boardman

BOARDMAN — A 20-year-old restaurant employee says she was robbed while making a night deposit.

The woman, an employee of Sbarro’s Pizza in the Southern Park Mall, told police that she went to National City Bank, Market Street, about 10 p.m. Saturday night.

When she got out of her car, a maroon Oldsmobile pulled into a spot near her and the driver, a man in his late 20s wearing a black hoodie and a skull cap got out of the car, pulled out a gun and demanded the money.

The woman fled through the parking lot and the man chased her in the car, striking the back of her legs with the front of his car.

The woman fell and threw the deposit bag at the man. He then fled in the car toward Tinseltown theater.

The woman declined medical treatment at the scene.

Police found the car early the next day in the theater parking lot. It had been reported stolen out of Niles.
