•Fry’s Electronics Open

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Canadian Mike Weir won for the first time since early in the 2004 season, shooting a 2-under 68 on Sunday for a one-stroke victory over Australia’s Mark Hensby.

Weir secured the win with a 6-foot par putt after hitting his approach on the par-4 18th into a greenside bunker.

The 2003 Masters champion took the lead with a birdie on the par-4 15th, rolling a chip shot to a foot, then held off Hensby over the final three holes on a warm, blustery day on Grayhawk’s Raptor Course.

Weir finished at 14-under 266 for his eighth PGA Tour victory, and first since the 2004 Nissan Open, a span of 87 starts. Three weeks ago, he beat Tiger Woods in singles in the Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal.

•Hana Bank Championship

GYEONGJU, South Korea — Norwegian star Suzann Pettersen won the Hana Bank KOLON Championship when high wind and unplayable conditions on the stressed putting surfaces forced tournament officials to call off the final round.

Pettersen opened with a 3-under 69 on Friday and shot a 72 on Saturday in cold and windy conditions to take the lead at 3 under. She won her fourth LPGA Tour title of the year and became the first non-South Korean winner in the six-year history of the event.

South Korea’s Eun-Hee Ji finished a stroke back, compatriots Seon Hwa Lee and Jeong Jang followed at 1 under, and Hyun-Hee Moon was fifth at even par. Top-ranked Lorena Ochoa, coming off her seventh victory of the season last week in the Samsung World Championship, tied for 12th at 3 over after rounds of 72 and 75.

The course was deemed unplayable after days of high wind on the greens that were already severely stressed by more than 20 inches of rain.

Duddy wins in 2nd

DUBLIN, Ireland — Middleweight John Duddy won by knockout over Prince Arron in the second round of their fight Saturday night.

Duddy, expected to face Youngstown’s world champion, Kelly Pavlik, in late January, came out swinging in the first round and the two fighters traded punches in the center of the ring.

A stiff double jab from Duddy followed by a left hook floored Arron late in the first round.

Arron stayed on one knee until the count of seven then rose to his feet to resume fighting.

The second round was all Duddy as the challenger seemed to focus more on avoiding Duddy’s punches as opposed to landing his own. Arron was unsteady on his feet after a few body punches from Duddy visibly shook him.

A nice left to the body followed by a right cross up top from Duddy sent Arron to the canvas; just seconds later, another double jab followed by a left hook sent Arron down for the second time in the round, and the referee wisely called a halt to the fight.
