KENT — Bowling Green’s Willie Geter ran for 203 yards and scored the game’s first touchdown. Tyler Sheehan threw for two second-half touchdowns — a 31-yard strike to Anthony Turner and a 24-yard connection Corey Partridge — to give Bowling Green (4-3, 2-1 MAC) a 28-13 fourth quarter lead. Kent State (3-5, 1-3) narrowed it to 28-20 with 5:35 left on a 32-yard pass from quarterback Julian Edelman to Rashad Tukes, but the Falcons’ Sinisa Vrvilo kicked a 49-yard field goal on the next possession, sealing the win. Eugene Jarvis rushed for 171 yards on 33 attempts, while Edelman added 110 yards on 17 carries for the Golden Flashes.

Temple 24, Miami (Ohio) 17

PHILADELPHIA — Backup quarterback Vaughn Charlton threw a key touchdown pass to Bruce Francis in the third quarter as Temple won its third straight game for the first time since 1990. Temple (3-5, 2-2 MAC East) remained in contention for a division title in its first season in the Mid-American Conference. Miami (4-4, 2-1) lost for the first time in league play.

Clemson 70, Central Michigan 14

CLEMSON, S.C. — Cullen Harper matched a school record with five touchdown passes and Clemson rolled to its highest point total in 26 years. Harper completed 20-of-22 passes for 273 yards as the Tigers (5-2) ended up with 656 total yards.

The total yards and points were the most for Clemson since collecting 756 yards in an 82-24 win over Wake Forest in its national title season of 1981. Clemson’s “Thunder and Lightning” backfield got back on track, too. James “Thunder” Davis ran for 88 yards, rushing for two touchdowns and catching a third, while C.J. “Lightning” Spiller added 96 yards and a TD.

Ball St. 27, W. Michigan 23

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Frank Edmonds scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 1:07 remaining. The Cardinals’ Nate Davis was 25-of-48 passing for 358 yards and two touchdowns. Donte Love led Ball State (5-3, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) with 11 catches for 101 yards. Louis Johnson had three receptions for 110 yards and a score. Western Michigan running back Brandon West finished with a career-high 171 yards rushing on 21 attempts. The Broncos (3-5, 2-1) took a 23-20 lead with 9:38 left in the fourth quarter when Tim Hiller found Jordan White for a 50-yard touchdown.

Hiller passed for 237 yards and the score to White, but threw three interceptions and was sacked four times. Ball State did not turn the ball over. For the season, the Cardinals have MAC-low seven turnovers.

Syracuse 20, Buffalo 12

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Doug Hogue and Mike Williams scored in the final minute of the first half to break open a tie game.
