XLAKE MILTON — The Rev. David Mertzweiler officiated at the Sept. 8 wedding of Bethany C. Prusky and Scott M. Sharp, both of 16550 Mahoning Ave.

The daughter of Darryl and Bonnie Prusky of 18214 Mahoning Ave., and the son of Robert and Joanne Sharp of Howland exchanged vows during a 2:30 p.m. ceremony at St. Catherine Church and were later congratulated at a reception at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex in Liberty.

The bride’s strapless ivory satin gown featured a re-embroidered lace bodice with crystal beading and sequins and had a chapel train.

Amanda Andree of Germantown, Wis., sister of the bride, was her matron of honor; and bridesmaids were the bride’s cousin, Stephanie Hahlen of Austintown, and Heather Jones of Lake Milton. Attendants wore plum dresses.

The groom’s brother, Justin Sharp, performed the duties of best man, and Benjamin Berndt of Fort Myers, Fla., and Joshua Hale of Canfield were groomsmen.

The bride, who is retaining her maiden name, graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in zoology and is employed as a zookeeper at the Akron Zoo.

The groom obtained a bachelor’s degree in information systems from Youngstown State University and works for Kent State University as a Web developer. He also is pursuing a master’s in business administration at KSU.

The couple plan a Caribbean cruise in January for their wedding trip.
