“Nature of the Beast” (8 p.m. ABC Family): A woman marries a werewolf, which means she’s got a lot to howl about.

“Incredible Human Machine” (9 p.m., National Geographic Channel): A typical day inside the human body is chronicled in this special. Using high-definition video and firsthand stories to show the ordinary and extraordinary, the program takes viewers on a guided tour of open-brain surgery. It looks at the skills of Olympic athletes and the stamina of the fabled Blue Angels. The special also examines real-time measurement of the vocal cords of Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler. Tyler, who suffered voice damage that forced the cancellation of part of his band’s 2006 tour, underwent a laser method of “zapping” blood vessels that enabled him to sing again. The show is an update of a 1975 broadcast of the same title.

“Desperate Housewives” (9 p.m., ABC): Shirley Knight is back to reprise her role as Bree’s former mother-in-law on “Desperate Housewives.” The pushy Phyllis unexpectedly drops in on Wisteria Lane and quickly discovers Bree’s fake pregnancy secret. In other developments, a gay couple moves into the neighborhood.

“Girl Meets Cowboy” (10 p.m., WE): A good man is hard to find? Not in Cowboy Country. Or so says a new reality series, “Girl Meets Cowboy,” which bears the message: “Go West, young woman.” In each episode, four city girls who are friends, sisters or co-workers relocate to rural America, where they must vie for an attractive cowboy’s heart through a round of country challenges like ridin’ and wranglin’. This week, California girls Stephanie, Brianna, Amber and Rebecca head for Montana’s Big Sky country and the 320 Ranch. Will one of them be able to lasso charming Cowboy Kevin?
