Fall color is near peak in almost every part of Ohio and Pennsylvania this week. The color change accelerated last weekend. The key to the region’s vibrant autumn colors is a combination of long, cool nights and short, sunny days in mid- to late September.

Beaver Creek in Columbiana County is rated as “still changing,” which means mostly green with less than 25 percent color showing.

Eagle Creek in Portage County is near peak.

Cuyahoga Valley in Cuyahoga County is near peak.

Punderson State Park in Geauga County is near peak.

Wayne National Forest is still changing.
