No health concern at Woodside, superintendent says

AUSTINTOWN — An illness scare at Woodside Elementary turned out to be nothing of concern, said schools Superintendent Doug Heuer.

The school district got calls from concerned parents Friday morning who said they’d heard a pupil has a serious infectious disease.

Pupils were ushered out of rooms the child was in contact with and those rooms were cleaned and disinfected, a statement from the district says.

Heuer said that the district’s doctor contacted the child’s doctor, and the district is satisfied now that there is no threat.

He said he had no information on what disease the child was supposed to have.
