A listing of events planned for Youngstown State University’s centennial celebration in 2008.

Jan. 12-18: “Multiple Inventories,” an exhibition of art from students in the YSU Art Department, Bliss Hall Gallery. A receptio n will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 17.

Jan. 23: College of Fine and Performing Arts Emeritus Faculty Luncheon.

Jan. 26: Annual Game of Hope Charity Classic, Beeghly Center.

Feb. 9: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s Annual Snowflake Ball at the Youngstown Club, marking the sorority’s 50th anniversary at YSU.

Feb. 12: Scholarship Ring Dinner, 6 p.m., Mr. Anthony’s, South Avenue, Boardman.

Feb. 16: Black Alumni Centennial Gospel Brunch, Salvation Army, Glenwood Avenue.

Feb. 20: Dr. Sherry Linkon explores part one of the history of the university and its impact on the Mahoning Valley in WYSU-FM 88.5’s public affairs program called “Lincoln Avenue,” 7:30 p.m.

March 25-26: Beeghly College of Education open house.

March 26-27: Partners in Art project, Beeghly College of Education.

March 28-29: Joint meeting of the Ohio Region Section of American Physical Society, Ohio Section of American Association of Physics Teachers and Western Pennsylvania Section of American Association of Physics Teachers.

March 29: Forum on the Legacy of Black Greeks at YSU.

April 3: Department of Human Ecology Alumni Dinner and Fashion Show, Room 3112, Cushwa Hall.

April 3-5: American Society of Civil Engineers Ohio Valley Student Conference.

April 11-13: Black Alumni Centennial Reunion.

April 15: YSU Honors Convocation, 7 p.m., Stambaugh Auditorium.

April 15-17: Spring Fling, Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center.

April 26: The Automobile in Our Culture Symposium, Kilcawley Center, featuring national experts on topics such as the Ohio Auto Industry, the Place of GM and Lordstown in the Mahoning Valley, Packard and the Mahoning Valley, The Avanti Albert Street Experience, the History and Future of Automotive Fetishism, Lessons on Labor and Management and Hot Rodding and Racing.

April 30: Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms and More, Ford Family Recital Hall.

May 6-12: History of Nursing Education at YSU and recognition of nursing alumni.

July 12: All Class Reunion, noon to 5 p.m. Place and details to be announced.

July 12-13: Health and Fitness Expo, Cushwa Hall.
