Dog plan moving forward
WARREN — Trumbull County commissioners agreed to solicit proposals from local veterinarians to spay and neuter and give rabies vaccines to all dogs adopted at the county dog pound.
The program is designed to reduce the dog population in the county, and is part of the long-range goals by commissioners to improve the county kennel.
In other business Wednesday, the commissioners:
UAgreed to donate $5,000 in county money to help restore the West Market Street bridge.
The money will go to Warren GROWS Inc. to make $25,000 in improvements to the limestone bridge over the Mahoning River and a primary entrance to the downtown. GROW now has $25,000 committed to the project.
UAwarded a $1,592,737 contract to Dave Sugar Excavating Inc. of New Middletown and $82,375 contract to Kirila Constructing Inc. for the East Central Bazetta Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project.
