‘Citizen crime fighter’ coming to Warren

WARREN — A man who calls himself a citizen crime fighter thinks his tactics can eliminate illegal drug activity in the city, if done right.

Michael Bonventre of Binghamton, N.Y., said he’s coming to Warren at his own expense because residents tell him crime is out of control — and the city needs help.

Bonventre will be at Kent State University Trumbull Campus, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, to talk about crimefighting.

Debbie Lovas, coordinator of the Northwest Neighborhood Association, invited Bonventre to see what he has to offer.
