FRIDAY

• Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will be selling potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday at (330) 755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide containers.

• Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at (330) 792-1005.

• Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pirogi. The cost for pirogi is $4.50 a dozen. Orders will be taken from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday at (330) 746-9528. Orders should be placed early and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

• Leetonia American Legion and Washingtonville VFW auxiliaries will sponsor a stuffed chicken breast dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. at Point Man’s LZ Refuge, 243 Main St., Leetonia. The cost is $7, and there will be a silent auction and 50-50 drawing.

• Potato pirogi will be sold at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown. To order call (330) 799-0084 at 6 p.m. Thursday or 8 to 11 a.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. There will be no sales before 11 a.m. Cost is $5 per dozen. The pirogi will be sold in bags by the dozen.

• St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling (330) 746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m. Friday.

• Potato, prune and kraut pirogi will be sold at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Cost is $4 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at (330) 755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers.

• St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, will be baking Italian-style red and white pizza. Phone orders will be accepted at (330) 788-0025 between 9 a.m. and noon only. Pickup will be until 1 p.m. Price is $5.50 for red and $4.50 for white.

• St. Paul the Apostle Church, Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to (330) 542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.

• St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $4 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at (330) 747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 a.m. Friday. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers.

SATURDAY

• Mineral Ridge Fire Station, state Route 46, is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children. The auxiliary is sponsoring a raffle of baskets.

• St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults and $3.50 for children 6 to 12. The dinner also will be offered Sunday.

• St. Patrick Church, 6387 state Route 87, Kinsman, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 12 and free for those 5 and under.

• A Swiss steak dinner will be held at 5 p.m. at Wildare Family Life Center, 7211 N. Park Extension, Champion Township. After dinner, there will be a brief program and music. For tickets ($10 each) or additional information, call (330) 898-3845, or (330) 372-6756.

• Winona Ruritan Club will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Willow Grove Grange Hall on Georgetown Road. Sausage and homemade scrapple will be available for sale.

SUNDAY

• Fowler Volunteer Fire Department will hold its monthly pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fire station, state Route 193. Prices are $5.50 for adults, $3.50 for senior citizens and children 6 to 12, and free for preschoolers.

• The Men’s Organization of Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St., will hold a roast beef dinner from noon to 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under at the door. For information, call (330) 876-4485.

• St. John Lutheran Church, 1429 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, has scheduled an Oktoberfest buffet at noon. Featured will be traditional German specialties and other dishes, including roast pork and knockwurst, German smoked sausage, German potato salad, beans, mashed potatoes, vegetables sauerkraut, red cabbage, and pumpernickel bread. • Struthers United Methodist Church, 33 Sexton Street, will sponsor a creamed chicken over biscuits dinner from noon to 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children. Carryout will be available. Tickets will be available a the door.

• Auxiliary of VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve breakfasts of eggs, sausage or ham, hash browns, pancakes, freedom toast, toast, and coffee or tea from 8 a.m. to noon. Meals are $4 for adults and $2 for children under 12.

• Victory Christian Center is having a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from noon to 5 p.m. at the Gentry Hall, 116 E. Liberty St., Hubbard. Tickets will be available during all Wednesday and Sunday services at Victory Christian Center in Coitsville, or at the door. Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for kids 10 and under. Included in the meals are meatballs, salad, bread and a beverage. Baked goods will be for sale. Walk-ins are welcome, and takeouts will be available.

TAKING ORDERS

• Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, Laird Ave. NE, Warren, will sell apple, cherry and cheese strudel for Thanksgiving. Large strudel (24 inches) are $14; and a half (12 inches) will be $7.50. Orders will be accepted until Nov. 12 at (330) 393-0781. Orders can also be placed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during pirogi sales from Oct. 31 through Nov 2, and Nov. 14 through 16. Pickup will be one day only, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 19. Orders will be accepted on any pirogi sale day for Christmas kolachi to be picked up Dec. 4.

UPCOMING

• Austintown Community Church, 242 S. Canfield-Niles Road, will be hosting its semiannual roast beef dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the church fellowship hall. The project G.R.O.W. (God Renewing Our Worship) committee is sponsoring the dinner. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 3 to 11. Children under 3 eat free. Carryout will be available. All proceeds will go to Pat Ciambrone in her fight against breast cancer.

• A cancer benefit spaghetti dinner will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 3 at LaBrae High School cafeteria, 1001 N. Leavitt Road in Leavittsburg, for Lindsy Jarvis. Ms. Jarvis has been diagnosed with a rare form of adrenal gland cancer. Tickets for adults cost $7 and for children, $5. Children under 3 eat free. Dinner tickets can be purchased at the Parkman Road CVS Pharmacy. There will be a 50-50 raffle and a Chinese auction. Donations can also be made at any Huntington Bank location in care of the Lindsy Jarvis Benefit Fund.
