ICC shown the door at Chevy Centre
YOUNGSTOWN — The company that has managed the city-owned Chevrolet Centre since it opened two years ago will be gone by Halloween.
And that’s not the only treat for the city.
International Coliseums Co. also agreed to pay $600,000 to the city, drop its federal lawsuit against the municipality and waived its $12,500 monthly management fee for September and this month.
The dissolution contract was approved Wednesday by ICC, a subsidiary of the Phoenix-based Global Entertainment Corp., as well as the city’s board of control.
GetTix.Net, another Global subsidiary, will continue as the center’s ticket agency on a month-to-month basis. GetTix includes a service charge as high as $7 a ticket as well as a $3 handling fee for each order. Tickets sold at the center’s box office don’t have the charge or fee.
The city can give 30 days’ notice anytime it wants to break ties with GetTix. The city plans to look at different ticketing agencies in the future.
