FLU SHOTS | Where to get them

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, is expecting a record-setting 132 million doses of the flu vaccine to be available to the general public. Here is a list of upcoming area flu shot clinics.

MAHONING COUNTY

Austintown: Vaccinations will be offered at the Giant Eagle Pharmacy, 5220 Mahoning Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 25.

Boardman: Shepherd of The Valley retirement services is offering a flu shot clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive.

Flu vaccines will be administered from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Giant Eagle store, 478 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Canfield: A clinic will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Giant Eagle store, 525 E. Main St.

Youngstown: The Medicine Shoppe pharmacy, 2603 Mahoning Ave., will be offering flu shots and pneumonia vaccinations from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday. After that date, flu shots will be available in the store between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays, while supplies last.

Ohio North East Health Systems Inc. will be operating flu clinics at its Youngstown center, 726 Wick Ave., from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday. Clinics will continue at the location from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 23 and from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 24.

Senior Independence will be administering flu shots from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 24 at the Mahoning County Senior Center, 1110 Fifth Ave. To schedule an appointment call (330) 744-5071.

Green: The Mahoning County District Board of Health will administer flu and pneumonia shots from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the township community building on Lisbon Road.

COLUMBIANA COUNTY

East Liverpool: Flu shots will be offered at two Giant Eagle Pharmacies Oct. 30. The store at 15937 state Route 170 will offer vaccinations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the store at 619 Bradshaw Ave. will offer them from 5 to 8 p.m.

MERCER COUNTY

Greenville, Pa.: Greenville Medical Center, 90 Shenango St., will host an adult flu vaccination clinic beginning 8 a.m. Nov. 3. The clinic is open only to those older than 18 and an appointment is required. Call (724) 588-4240 to schedule an appointment.

TRUMBULL COUNTY

Warren: Shepherd of The Valley retirement services is hosting a flu shot clinic from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2860 E. Market St.

Giant Eagle will offer flu shots from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 25 at its 2061 Elm Road location. The store also will offer flu shots from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 29 at its store on 2700 Mahoning Ave.

Ohio North East Health Systems Inc. will offer flu shots at its Warren center, 716 Tod Ave., from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Friday. Clinics will continue at the same location from 9 a.m. to noon Monday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 24.
