2 Detroit men face drug charges

SHARON, Pa. — City police said they found a significant amount of suspected cocaine at a Malleable Street home.

Two Detroit men who were inside the house are being held in the Mercer County Jail after failing to post $100,000 bond each.

Police said they were called to a home on the 400 block at 8:25 p.m. Saturday for suspicious activity. When they went to the house a woman answered the door, but claimed no one else was inside.

Police saw movement and asked to search the house finding the two men. While searching for others, police discovered a gun and suspected crack cocaine.

Police said they then got permission from the woman to search for other items and found a substantial amount of suspected cocaine, drug manufacturing equipment, packaging and paraphernalia. Those items were sent to the state police crime lab in Erie for testing.

Police took the men to the county jail and were able to determine their identities through fingerprints. Eric D. Purnell, 36, and Teddy V. Davis, 28, both of Detroit, are each charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy and persons not to possess a firearm.

Police said today there could be additional charges added after tests on the items found inside the home are completed at the state police crime lab.
