Pavlik to fight Duddy on Jan. 26 in Atlantic City

Middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik of Youngstown will fight Irish middleweight John Duddy on Jan. 26, 2008 in Atlantic City, N.J., the Vindicator has learned.

It will be the first title defense for Pavlik, who knocked out Jermain Taylor to win the WBC title last month in Atlantic City.

Duddy, whose nickname is “The Derry Destroyer,” is 21-0 with 16 KOs. In Duddy’s most recent fight, he defeated Alessio Furlan by TKO in the 10th round on July 14 in Dublin, Ireland.
