Results of Youngstown police Special Interdiction Patrol and Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers’ efforts to crack down on crime, using extra traffic patrols:
OSHP Feb. 15-28: 1,912 stops, with 44 driving citations, 86 driving under suspension arrests, four DUI, nine felony arrests.
OSHP July 19-21: 400 stops, with 190 citations, three felony arrests, 23 driving under suspension arrests and five DUI.
OSHP Aug. 1-4: 360 stops, with 244 citations, five felony arrests, 25 driving under suspension, five DUI.
YPD Feb. 2-28: 2,641 stops, with 69 felony and 346 misdemeanor arrests, 788 traffic citations, 58 minor misdemeanor citations, 15 firearms and $12,164 currency recovered.
YPD Vice Squad (February dates not revealed): 17 felony and 17 misdemeanor arrests, 19 search warrants, 51 home searches, 21 firearms, $14,350 currency, crack cocaine, marijuana and heroin recovered.
Juvenile probation Feb. 15, 19 and 22: 65 home visits, nine orders of apprehension and seven additional warrants served.
YPD March 1: 125 stops, 14 misdemeanor arrests, 38 citations.
March 2: 81 stops, 16 felony and eight misdemeanor arrests, 12 traffic citations.
YPD March 3: 77 stops, four felony and 10 misdemeanor arrests, 15 citations.
YPD March 4: 59 stops, six misdemeanor arrests, nine citations.
YPD April 5: 58 stops, 10 misdemeanor arrests, 23 citations.
YPD April 6: 81 stops, 18 misdemeanor arrests, 30 citations.
YPD April 7: 61 stops, two felony and 16 misdemeanor arrests, 27 citations, one firearm recovered.
YPD July 17-21: 133 stops, with nine felony arrests, 47 misdemeanor arrests, 61 traffic citations, three minor misdemeanor citations, one firearm seized.
YPD July 31 - Aug. 4: 115 stops, with eight felony arrests, 41 misdemeanor arrests, 44 traffic citations, nine minor misdemeanor citations.
