MERCER, Pa. — A Mercer man accused of sexually soliciting what he believed were 13-year-old girls on the Internet became the 99th person charged by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit since the unit was created in January 2005.
Christopher L. Glaister, 29, of Quince Street is charged with three counts each of unlawful contact with a minor, sending obscene and other sexual materials and performances on the Internet and criminal use of a communication facility.
An affidavit filed to support the charges contends that Glaister, using the screen name Kit16137 in a Yahoo chat room, approached three girls online asking for nude photographs. In each case, the person communicating with Glaister claimed to be a 13-year-old girl but was really an agent with the Pennsylvania attorney general’s office.
Glaister sent each of them a picture of an erect penis and then asked for nude photos of themselves or their mothers, according to court papers.
Court papers state he also asked them about their sexual experience and told one that he wanted to have sex with the girl and her mother at the same time.
Attorney general agents were able to learn Glaister’s identity through his Internet provider.
Attorney General Tom Corbett said the Child Predator Unit was created in 2005 to conduct proactive undercover investigations to identify and capture Internet predators before they can harm children.
Additionally, the unit presents educational programs to schools and community groups across Pennsylvania, teaching children and parents about online safety.
Glaister was arraigned Wednesday and placed in Mercer County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday before Mercer Magisterial District Judge Lorinda Hinch.
