A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:
Oct. 7
Drugs: While responding to a report of a drug offense in the 1100 block of Doral Drive, police charged a 27-year-old Campbell woman with drug abuse (heroin), possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia, as well as one count of child endangering.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A vehicle check on Midlothian Boulevard revealed the car had been stolen in Youngstown, and officers charged a 34-year-old Bessemer, Pa., man with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also had a suspected crack pipe in his pocket, police said.
Burglary: An Erskine Avenue woman discovered someone broke into her home by entering through a rear door.
Domestic violence: A Boardman man, 24, faced two counts of domestic violence after the suspect’s brother alleged the man punched him several times as the brother tried to stop him from hitting the girlfriend of the accused. The man’s father told police his son spit on him.
Oct. 8
Theft: A 17-year-old Youngstown boy faced charges of theft and obstructing official business after candy was taken from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive. A Youngstown man, 20, was charged with obstructing official business.
Theft: A Sheridan Road man reported the theft of his $25 trailer.
Stolen property: A traffic stop near U.S. Route 224 and Market Street led to the arrests of a woman, 40, and a 45-year-old man, both of Youngstown, on charges of receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both also were wanted on warrants from Mahoning County.
Theft: Police arrested a 37-year-old Columbiana woman on charges of theft and possession of drug-abuse instruments. She is accused of taking $72 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Arrest: A 21-year-old Youngstown man was taken into custody after a vehicle check in the 8300 block of Market Street showed he was wanted on a warrant from Niles charging him with fraud.
Felonious assault/theft: Police charged a Youngstown boy, 17, with felonious assault, and an 18-year-old Youngstown man with theft after three video games were stolen from Sears in the Southern Park Mall. An employee alleged the boy attempted to run him over with a vehicle in an effort to help the man escape.
Theft: A man discovered a $450 mountain bike and golf clubs missing from his garage in the 6700 block of Applewood Boulevard.
Domestic violence: Officers charged a 15-year-old Boardman girl after the teen’s guardian alleged she bit him on the right shoulder and shoved him when the accuser told the teen she was forbidden to go out.
Theft: Three females removed 40 articles of clothing valued at a total of $5,000 from Demo in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: Two tuxedos were taken from Rondinelli Tuxedo Rental, 845 Boardman-Poland Road. The loss came to $1,000.
Assault: A boy, 17, suffered a black eye, bruises on his nose and a cut to his elbow after being assaulted at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave.
Theft: A license plate was removed from a vehicle in the 6800 block of Lockwood Boulevard.
Theft: Someone took the rear license plate off a car in the 100 block of Terrace Drive.
Oct. 9
Vandalism: Someone cut all four tires on a van owned by Cathy’s Custom Catering, 5234 Southern Blvd., causing an estimated $600 damage.
Theft: Officers charged a 47-year-old Youngstown man accused of stealing $15 worth of lunch meat from Boardman Sparkle Market, 6315 Market St.
Theft: A man came out of the Southern Park Mall and noticed the rear license plate missing from his father’s car.
Theft: A motorist pumped $32 worth of gasoline and left a Get Go station, 6911 South Ave., without paying.
Fraud: A Youngstown woman took a check she received in the mail to a Market Street bank, which informed her the check was phony. Earlier, she reported a letter accompanying the check claiming she won $250,000 in a lottery was a scam.
Theft: A man stole an $80 Xbox game system from Gamestop, 813 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: An employee with a private business in the 700 block of Boardman-Poland Road discovered a PowerPoint projector and an X-ray viewer were removed from an office.
Theft: A Woodview Avenue woman noticed several potted plants missing from her porch.
Criminal mischief: A worker for Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 381 Boardman-Poland Road, reported damage to the men’s restroom.
Theft: A Lisbon man, while in the 1800 block of Sequoya Drive, reported $45 was taken from his wallet.
Fraud: Someone used a counterfeit check to buy 10 gift cards at the Southern Park Mall.
Oct. 10
Theft: Police charged a Youngstown man, 42, with theft after accusing him of taking eight wrenches and a wrench set from Sears. He also faced felony charges of identity theft and escape after being picked up in the 5800 block of Southern Boulevard.
Theft/criminal damaging: A worker for a business in the 800 block of Boardman-Canfield Road noticed her vehicle had been broken into. Stolen were an MP3 player and two books.
