City moves to sever ties with Chevy Centre management

YOUNGSTOWN — Mayor Jay Williams said the city is making progress in negotiations to dissolve the contract with a Phoenix company that is managing the Chevrolet Centre.

“I’d categorize the talks as productive,” he said.

Williams declined to discuss the details of the negotiations. ICC’s media adviser has declined to talk about the matter.

The city should know in about two weeks if the contract with International Coliseums Co., which manages the city-owned facility, can be dissolved without going through the courts, Williams said today.
