Junior women’s league event benefits food bank

BOARDMAN — Boardman-Poland Junior Women’s League will hold a garage, attic and basement sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Boardman Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank and will remain in the Mahoning Valley to feed the hungry.

For every $1 raised, the food bank can distribute $15 worth of food. Each day, the food bank distributes 20,000 pounds of food to 170 hunger relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties, including church pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and shelters for battered women.
