Jeweler reports $27,500 diamond theft


WARREN – The owner of Earl Maxin Jewelers has reported to police that about $27,500 in diamonds have been stolen from his store.

Earl Maxin told police Wednesday that the diamonds were in three envelopes taken from either the safe or off the counter. All of them belonged to customers.

One envelope contained a $2,500 diamond, another a $5,000 diamond and the third contained $20,000 in jewelry that he was going to redesign, Maxin told police.
