Dog bites boy in face
YOUNGSTOWN — A 2-year-old boy was bitten in the face by a pit bull dog at his North Evanston Avenue home after apparently falling over a shirt and startling the animal, reports show. The boy was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center on Monday afternoon to be treated for a cut that started in the middle of his forehead, went between his eyes and stopped near his left jaw, police said. The mother had been asleep on the couch while the child was on the floor with the dog. A witness in the room said the dog jumped up and bit the boy after being startled. The dog was then locked in a bedroom. The mother told police the dog belongs to her boyfriend, who is in jail. A dog warden called to the scene left the animal there, telling the mother to watch the dog for 10 days, and said he would follow up. Police discovered the house had no running water and told the mother to stay elsewhere until the water is turned on.

Carjacking sentence
MERCER, Pa. — A judge in Mercer County Common Pleas Court has sentenced Stacey Sellers, 45, of Maple Street, Warren, to three years and eight months to 10 years in prison for a carjacking Nov. 21, 2004, in Sharon. Court documents say Sellers approached a group of three women outside the Willow Village Apartments on Sterling Avenue. They went to get into a van when Sellers knocked one of the women to the ground. He then held a knife to another woman already in the vehicle and told her she had to come with him. She escaped by jumping from the moving vehicle and told police that Sellers then put the van into reverse and knocked her to the ground with it. She suffered rib and back injuries. Sellers pleaded guilty in August to felony robbery of a motor vehicle and two misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person. He is already serving time in Ohio for a 2004 crime spree that included a carjacking.
