How players of area interest fared in Sunday's games:
Jeff Wilkins, Rams (Fitch/YSU) — Wilkins scored 11 points in the Rams’ 34-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He made field goals measuring 46, 35 and 51 yards, and two extra points, but the Rams fell to 0-5.
Anthony Smith, Steelers (Hubbard) — The former Syracuse standout started against the Seahawks and had five tackles — three first hits — in the Steelers’ 21-0 victory.
Marlin Jackson, Colts (Sharon) — One week after leading the Colts’ defense against the Broncos, the former Michigan standout had three tackles as the Colts defeated the Buccaneers, 33-14.
Brad Smith, Jets (Chaney) — The former Missouri standout started at wide receiver and had three catches for 44 yards, including a long of 17 yards, and scored a touchdown in the Jets’ 35-24 loss. Smith caught a 16-yard scoring pass from Chad Pennington with 33 seconds remaining in the first half, which gave the Jets a 14-7 lead. Smith also had a special teams tackle.
Prescott Burgess, Ravens (Warren Harding) — The former Michigan standout played but did not record any statistics in the Ravens’ 9-7 win over the 49ers.
