Burglars target two Wick Avenue businesses

YOUNGSTOWN — Two Wick Avenue businesses were targeted by a thief or thieves early today, police said. The owner of VIP Car Care, 1000 Wick, got a call from his alarm company and went to check the business, finding that someone had broken into the office and taken cash. Police who were called around 2 a.m. discovered a hole was made through an exterior wall to gain entry.

At 2:35 a.m., the burglar alarm at Jump Start, 833 Wick, sounded. Police who responded found that someone had tried to enter by prying open a window but didn’t get in, possibly because the alarm sounded, reports show.
