Wed 60 years, Bauns celebrate with a party

XBOARDMAN — At a surprise party Sept. 30 at the Holiday Inn, Homer and Irene Baun of Boardman celebrated 60 years of marriage with their family and friends.

The event was hosted by the couple’s children, Donald (Betty) Baun of Perrysville, Curt (Erica) Baun of Boardman and Jennifer Baun of Columbus. The couple also have three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Baun and the former Irene Snyder were married Sept. 19, 1947, at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Baun retired from Rainbow Demos in Youngstown.

Mr. Baun retired as a driver-salesman for Royal Crown Cola in Youngstown. He’s a U.S. Navy veteran and belongs to the Western Star Masonic Lodge.

The couple belong to Christ Church, United Presbyterian, in Youngstown.
