Vows renewed by the Carases on anniversary

XGIRARD — Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Caras, 966 Adrian Circle, renewed their nuptial vows during a Mass held Oct. 6 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown, where they were united in marriage Oct. 5, 1957.

The anniversary was also observed during a 50th anniversary Mass held in June at St. Columba.

After the renewal of vows, the couple were honored in the church hall at a family dinner party hosted by their son, Larry Caras of Cincinnati, and their daughter and son-in-law, Janeen and Paul Kollat of Aurora. Also participating were their grandchildren, twins Jenna and Lucia, and Paul Kollat.

Mrs. Caras, the former Jean Appulese, was employed 21 years in retail at the Liberty Township store of Strouss-Kaufmann prior to retiring in 1986.

Mr. Caras served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and retired in 1985 after 22 years of service with AT&T/Lucent Technology in Youngstown. He is a member of the K. of C. and the Italian Fraternal Home.

The couple are members of St. Rose Church, where she is a member of the church choir.
