Several to be honored
at philanthropy event
YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning/Shenango Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals will be honoring certain people and organizations at its annual National Philanthropy Day luncheon at noon Nov. 13 at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman.
Being recognized are Brenda M. Rider, Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Award; Jim Winner Jr. and Karen Winner Hale, Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist Award; Brodell Medical, Outstanding Small Business Philanthropist Award; Mahoning County Salvation Army, Outstanding Civic Organization Award; and the late F.W. Knecht III, Women’s Auxillary Legacy Award.

Economist to speak at
Growth Awards event
YOUNGSTOWN — Economist Jack Kleinhenz returns to the Mahoning Valley Thursday to help the Regional Chamber honor the fastest-growing businesses in the area. He will give the keynote address at the Mahoning Valley Growth Awards Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman.
He is chief executive of Kleinhenz & Associates in Cleveland Heights, a business and economic consulting firm he founded in 1998. He is a member of the Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors and the Northeast Ohio Council of Economic Policy Advisors.

Couple opens fishing,
hunting supply store
POLAND — David and Carrie Untch recently opened All Pro Fisher, a hunting and fishing supply store, at 115 N. Main St. The couple makes hand-made lures, but the store offers a complete line of supplies, including bows, arrows, muzzleloaders, ammunition, tree stands, rods, reels and bait.

opens in Boardman
BOARDMAN — Rusco Design Center & Rosemont Lighting recently opened at 1280 Boardman-Poland Road. Rusco Products, a 65-year-old family business, had been located on South Avenue in Youngstown. It changed its name with the move and now offers cabinetry, countertops, flooring, appliances and other items. Rosemont Lighting, also locally owned, has teamed up with Rusco to offer lighting, furniture and art work.
Keynote Media chosen
for remodeling show
YOUNGSTOWN — The local chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling industry has chosen the Keynote Media Group of Youngstown to provide marketing and branding services for its annual home remodeling show. The event, titled Your Home Makeover Expo 2008, will be held in January at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman. NARI of the Valley comprises 45 businesses specializing in residential remodeling and related services.
Attorney to speak
about patent process
LIBERTY — Robert Lev, a patent attorney and owner of Lev Intellectual Property Consulting in Liberty, will speak on the patent process at a meeting Wednesday of the Youngstown & Warren Inventors Association. The meeting is at 7 p.m. at the Liberty Township administration building, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road. The public is welcome, and there is no charge to attend.
