It’s free. Kids ages 2-12 are invited to dress in costume and trick-or-treat in the museum, 139 E. Boardman Street (across from the downtown post office).

Fifteen local nonprofit organizations will pass out candy to children and provide information to adults regarding community resources for families. An adult must accompany children.

Though exhibit galleries will close for the festivities, several Halloween-themed activities will take place on Boardman Street, which will be closed between Champion and Walnut Streets. The museum will provide the following fun activities:

USpaghetti painting with Café Cimmento.

UMask making sponsored by the museum.

UFace painting.

UHalloween-themed carnival games sponsored by students from Youngstown State University’s Honors program.

UMad Science sponsored by local teachers.

The Organization for Bat Conservation will visit the museum for a second year, and with two live bat presentations scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m. Local magician John Steven Bloom will present at 2 and 4. The Singing Art Teacher will lead children in a musical program between the bat and magic shows.

To raise money for the museum’s programs and exhibits, CMV will have food available for sale, as well as a stuffed animal building station. Each animal will cost $25.

CMV invites museum members to a special preview from 11 a.m. until noon. Those in attendance will be treated to a Halloween sing-along, craft and light breakfast buffet. Members will also have the opportunity to trick-or-treat before doors open at noon.
