Maslonka is signed

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown SteelHounds of the Central Hockey League re-signed defenseman Milan Maslonka for the 2007-08 season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Maslonka, 20, returns and remains the youngest member of a squad that qualified for the playoffs for the first time in franchise history last season.

The native of Zvolen, Slovakia is also the biggest member of the team standing in at 6-6 and weighing 245 pounds.

Coach Kevin Kaminski is expecting big things from his big defenseman.

“We look for Milan to come in here and be a presence for us,” Kaminski said.

Maslonka was one of seven SteelHounds to take part in American Hockey League training camps attending preseason festivities with the Hartford Wolf Pack. Maslonka was called up to Hartford last season; the Wolf Pack are the top affiliate of the New York Rangers.
