Province’s 259 yards power JFK
WARREN — The St. Thomas Aquinas High football team was no match for Jared Province.
The Warren JFK running back ran 16 times for 259 yards and five touchdowns and added a 64-yard TD on a punt return Friday to lead the Eagles to a 48-31 victory over the Knights.
Province scored the game’s first four touchdowns, on a pair of 58-yard runs, the punt return and a 3-yard run. He later added a 2-yard run and a 61-yard run for the Eagles (5-2), who led 35-7 at one point.
Matt Sams completed 14 of 26 passes for 186 yards, an interception and a touchdown for the Knights (2-5).

Minerva 14
BELOIT — Steve McNeely completed 10 of 14 passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Warriors (6-1, 3-1 Northeastern Buckeye Conference).
Jase Uyselt caught four passes for 83 yards and two TDs. Eric Bater and Vinnie Mazzei each added TD runs for the Warriors, who took a 28-0 halftime lead. West Branch’s defense had eight sacks.
Evan Nickell ran 15 times for 121 yards and a TD to lead Minerva (2-5, 0-4).

Middletown Christian 0
VIENNA — Brad Hughes scored four touchdowns, three on runs of 3, 20 and 9 yards and the other on a 34-yard pass from Lucas Buckner, to pace Mathews.
Middletown Christian was held to minus 27 yards rushing and one first down.
Brent Jackson and Ryan Winfield each scored twice for the Mustangs, Jackson on a 58-yard punt return and a 10-yard run, and Winfield on runs of 3 and 33 yards. Jack Klinger kicked six extra points.
Other Mathews TDs were scored by Eric Ocheltree on a 15-yard run and Seth Paddock on a 19-yard pass Greg Wise.
Hughes wound up with 102 yards rushing in six attempts while Jackson added 95 yards in six runs.
Youngstown Christian 27,
Southington 7
SOUTHINGTON — Randy Triplett rushed for 187 yards and passed for 142 more.
Triplett scored on runs of 12, 39 and 5 yards. He also connected with Anthony LaGamba for a 63-yard scoring toss.
Youngstown Christian (4-2, 3-1 East Suburban Conference) intercepted four passes. Dante Yanno stole two while Caleb Yanno and Victor Shaw had one each.
Jimy Rasey scored an 11-yard touchdown for Southington (0-6, 0-3).
