JUDICIAL PANEL | Probate court


Gov. Ted Strickland selected the following to serve on a panel to interview Mahoning County Probate Court judicial candidates, and to recommend three for the job.

LOCAL PANEL MEMBERS

Janet Tarpley, Mahoning County director of Parenting Project and the Democratic nominee for the Youngstown City Council’s 6th Ward seat.

John McNally IV of Youngstown, Mahoning County commissioner and an attorney.

Arlette Gatewood of Youngstown, a retired staff representative for the United Steel Workers of America.

Alan R. Kretzer, a Youngstown attorney.

Lynn Roman, a public relations consultant with Multimedia Farms, a Canfield company that provided the large outdoor screens during Strickland’s inaugural address.

J. Gerald Ingram, a Boardman attorney and Mahoning County Bar Association president.

AT-LARGE MEMBERS

James Ray (panel chairman), a retired Lucas County Common Pleas Court juvenile division judge.

Janica Pierce, an attorney with the Columbus law firm of Chester, Willcox and Saxbe.

John Kulewicz, an attorney with the Columbus law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease.

Betty Davis, president of Community Concepts Inc., a group home company in Warren County.

Isabel Framer, a court-certified Spanish/English interpreter from Summit County and the chairwoman of the board of directors of the National Association of Judicial Interpreters and Translators.
