Fitch falls 31-21 at Jax

MASSILLON — Jackson (3-4, 2-2) took a 17-0 lead before holding off Austintown Fitch, 31-21, in a Federal League game Friday night.

Sylvestry Gibbs scored twice for Fitch (1-5, 0-4) followed by Derek Brendlinger extra-point kicks, points that pulled the Falcons within 17-14.

Nick Groat also tallied for Fitch, which had a 22-12 advantage in first downs, 205-163 edge in rushing yards and 173-74 edge in passing yards.

However, the Falcons lost three of five fumbles.
