Church to begin outreach to buy groceries
BROOKFIELD — Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St., will begin an Angel Food Ministries program this month. The organization, which is nonprofit and nondenominational, helps people buy groceries at a lower cost.
Orders may be placed from 8 to 11 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Oct. 14 at the church. The church will accept cash, money orders or cashier’s checks payable to Brookfield UMC or food stamps. No personal checks are accepted. The cost is $25 and includes fresh and frozen products. Other monthly specials are available for $18. Information on the program is available at Brookfield UMC, Brookfield Administration Building and other churches and sites in the community.
