JOHN CARROLL UNIVERSITY, CLEVELAND

Matthew Hiznay, son of Jim and Mandie Hiznay of Poland, was selected to attend the Jesuit Student Government Summit at Marquette University in Wisconsin in August. Participants discussed issues facing student governments and how the Jesuit mission and ideals affect those issues. Hiznay is president of the Class of 2010 at John Carroll.

OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, COLUMBUS

Joshua Stanton of Youngstown, a freshman political science major, has earned the designation of AP Scholar from the College Board in recognition of exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program Exams. He is a graduate of Chaney High School.

WESTMINSTER COLLEGE, NEW WILMINGTON, PA.

Akesha Joseph, daughter of Michael Blackwell and Magna Joseph-Blackwell, Youngstown, has been elected as one of 12 senators for the Student Government Association. Joseph, a senior English major, is a graduate of Chaney High School.
