Doug Skica was killed while trying to overpower one of the two men who had pistol-whipped his father. The two men, James Lee Hall and Jerome Thompson, both convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death, are scheduled before parole board members next month. The victim:

Education: Graduate of Canfield High and Kent State with a degree in architecture.

Employment: An architect at Dalton, Dalton and Newport, Cleveland.
