Some of the stolen items are on display in Girard Police Department.
GIRARD — City police have arrested a city man believed to be partially responsible for a rash of car thefts and break-ins on the city’s north side.
Police believe two suspects have been responsible for the dozens of thefts in the last two to three months, but only one man has been arrested at this time.
According to a press release issued by the police department, officers went to 504 Park Avenue Wednesday to arrest Ademilson Smith, formerly of Kinsman, on a felony receiving stolen property warrant out of Niles. Smith is believed to have attempted to pawn several items stolen in the thefts.
According to the release officers recovered a large amount of the stolen items during Smith’s arrest.
Stolen items are being displayed at the Girard Police Department beginning Thursday so residents can identify any of their items that may have been stolen.
