XCOLUMBIANA — Samuel Ross Wenger and his bride, the former Mishell Lynn Kersten, left for a honeymoon in Aruba after their marriage on July 21 at Midway Mennonite Church.
The couple exchanged nuptial vows that day during a 2 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Larry Rohrer, and were honored later at a reception at The Timberlanes in Salem.
Since their return, the daughter of Keith and Judi Kersten of North Lima and son the of Dale and Marian Wenger of Columbiana and the late Cheryl Wenger, live in Tavernier, Fla.
Metallic silver embroidery and crystal beading enhanced the bride’s strapless A-line gown of white satin. It featured a laced-up back and a chapel train.
Lynsey Manypenny was the honor attendant, and bridesmaids were Kortney Kersten, sister of the bride; Charity Wenger, sister of the groom; and Stacey Doepker. The attendants wore robin’s-egg blue gowns. The groom’s cousin, Stella Bixler, was flower girl.
Serving as best man was Chris Trimbath, and groomsmen were Jay Stanwood, Robert Buzash and the groom’s cousin, Zach Witmer. Ring bearer was Shane Nelson, and guests were ushered by Ken Kersten, the bride’s cousin; Kyle Nissley, the groom’s stepbrother; Joe Graham; and Brandon Kramer.
The bride, an intern at Dolphin Research Center in Marathon, Fla., graduated summa cum laude from the University of Akron with a degree in psychology.
The groom is employed at Home Depot in Cuttler Ridge, Fla.
