Fitch beats Perry, 3-1; Boardman ties Hoover

MASSILLON — Dana Lucido scored two goals Wednesday as the Fitch High girls soccer team defeated Massillon Perry, 3-1.

Kelsey Martin netted the other goal for the Falcons (8-3-2, 4-2 Federal League).

Earning assists were Tori Koch and Kaitlyn Shiley. Goalkeeper Ali Tolich made 11 saves.

Ally Smith scored for Perry.

BOARDMAN — Lea Byers scored the goal for the Spartans (8-1-3, 4-1-1 Federal).

Jessica Winters assisted on the play that game late in the second half.

Jackie Nicodemo scored in the second half for Hoover (10-0-3, 5-0-1).

JVs: Hoover, 2-1.

Canfield 3, Poland 1

CANFIELD — Noelle Fox scored two goals for the Cardinals (7-5-2, 7-2 Metro Athletic Conference). Audra Frimpong netted the other goal.

Katie Hiznay scored the goal for the Bulldogs on an assist from Sam Robertson.

Canfield had 21 shots on goal and Poland had eight.

Canfield goalkeeper Anokha Padubidri made six saves while Erin Eckman had seven saves for Poland.

Howland 9, East Liverpool 1

EAST LIVERPOOL — Megan Long scored three goals while Alexa Williams and Katie Chambers had two apiece.

Olivia Wilson and Jessica Prokup scored the other goals as Howland won the MAC crown outright.

Howland (10-4, 9-0) goalkeepers Casey Haering and Kristen James combined for two saves.

For the Potters, Kaitlin Connor scored and goalkeepers Shari Burchett and Nikole Riley combined for 15 saves.

Struthers 3, Crestview 1

NEW WATERFORD — Ashley Baron, Nicolette Demyam and Helen Marie Hirr scored a goal for the Wildcats (6-4).

Olivia Gamble scored the Rebels’ goal in the second half.

Ursuline 4, Harding 1

WARREN — Hannah Snyder scored two goals for the Irish (9-1-1). Catelyn Tondo-Steele and Kelsey Price scored the other goals.

Tondo-Steele had two assists while Snyder and Dana Hinebaugh had one each.

Goalkeeper Nikka Bonamase made eight saves while Teresa Carkido made three saves.

For the Raiders (9-3-0), Deanna Kucenko scored on an assist from Jenna Bolino. Goalkeeper Avrielle Marten made five saves while Stephanie Cross made six saves.

Mooney 12, Warren JFK 2

STRUTHERS — Katie Griswold scored four goals and an assist for the Cardinals (6-1-4, 1-0 Steel Valley Conference).

Emma Engler scored two goals and one assist while Ashley Cuba scored two goals.

Dina Pelly had one goal and three assists while Alex Sierra and Colleen Hernan each scored a goal and two assists. Britanee Mulhall scored a goal while Kelly Sklenar and Ashling Trewella had assists.

Goalkeeper Jenn Lawrence made four saves.

Kelli Guanieri scored both goals for JFK (6-5-3). Erin McBride had an assist while Helena Democopolous made seven saves.

Badger 4, Bristol 2

KINSMAN — Badger scored three second-half goals to win. Shawna McNeely led the Braves (8-5-1) with three goals. Jenna Miller scored a goal and an assist. Adrianna Braho had two assists and Kayleen Meradith one.
