Abandoned infant found in Sharon

SHARON, Pa. — An infant girl less than 24-hours old was found abandoned at a South Irvine Avenue home. Sharon Police said the girl was found wrapped in a jacket at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday in the foyer of a duplex at 109 S. Irvine St. A Greenville woman visiting relatives discovered the infant. The child has been turned over to Mercer County Children and Youth Services and has temporarily been named “baby Jane Doe” by investigators. The child was taken to an area hospital and appears to be in good health, police said. Anyone with information about the baby, should contact Sharon Police at (724) 983-3210.
