Teen charged with break-in at gun shop
BOARDMAN — Police have charged a 16-year-old Youngstown boy with the May 14 break-in at Miller Rod & Gun, Youngstown-Poland Road.
The boy was arrested while appearing in Mahoning County Juvenile Court on an unrelated matter.
“This arrest signals a significant development in our ongoing investigation,” said Police Chief Patrick Berarducci. “We have more work to do, but things are starting to break our way.”
The juvenile is charged with breaking and entering, theft and vandalism, all felonies. The charges are in connection with the early morning break-in at the gun shop. The 16-year-old is being held at the juvenile justice center.
The investigation is ongoing and involves several agencies. Cited for their assistance were the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Youngstown, Liberty and Hubbard Township police departments; Mahoning and Columbiana County Sheriff’s Offices; and the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.
