Mom’s case against Poland Seminary dismissed

YOUNGSTOWN — The mother of a Poland Seminary High School girl has dismissed her case against the school district.

Atty. Plato Kalfas, who represents Rebekah Morse of Lowellville, field the notice of dismissal Wednesday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Morse had filed the complaint after her daughter, Brittany Gamble, a junior at the school, had been suspended from athletic activities for one year because she was accused of being drunk at a band night.

The mother contended her daughter wasn’t drinking.

The dismissal follows an agreement last month between the family and the school board that amounted to a 90-day athletic suspension for the girl.
