Fire damages home on Halls Heights Avenue

YOUNGSTOWN — A kitchen fire at 56 Halls Heights Ave. started when a pan on the stove with oil in it overheated and ignited Tuesday night, the fire department said. The occupant, who thought the electric burner had been turned off, threw the pan into the sink and the grease fire spread to the drapes over the sink, window and frame, reports show. Damage was set at $1,000.
