Black Chamber of Commerce plans expo

YOUNGSTOWN — The Nu Valley Black Chamber of Commerce will hold a business expo from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Buckeye Elks Youth Center, 421 1/2 North Ave.

The public is invited to explore the products and services offered by area businesses. There is no charge.

The chamber plans to hold an expo on the first Saturday of each month. Businesses interested in participating should call Nathaniel Chism at (330) 747-9323.

Chism started the chamber a year ago. It has been preparing for the expo and holding mixers so business owners can get to know one another.

“I believe in this valley, and I want to see African-Americans take a stronger role in the free enterprise system,” said Chism, the owner of the African Holistic Healing Center, 260 Tod Lane.
