NEW MIDDLETOWN — Ashley Davis scored 16 points including four aces as Springfield (11-5) needed five sets to beat St. Thomas. Morgan Fagnano had 12 points and Rachael Kennedy 10 for the Tigers. Jamie Foster and Whitney Yaeger had 10 and nine kills respectively.

WARREN — Jonna Dunn scored 14 points and Lindsay Bater added nine kills as Niles (6-13) topped Champion. Courtney Miller had four aces and Dunn also added seven blocks for the Dragons. Leah Nichols led Champion (5-11) with 15 points and three aces, while Jessica Frantz had 12 kills. JVs: Niles 25-17, 25-17.

GIRARD — Junior middle hitter Olivia Bucci had seven service points, two aces, eight kills, five blocks and seven digs and sophomore outside hitter Chelsea Guerrieri had 12 service points, four aces, seven kills, three blocks and 10 digs for Girard (11-6). Jill Wollet had nine service points, two aces, three kills, two blocks, 13 assists and 12 digs, while Katie Pompeii had three service points, one ace, eight kills and nine digs for Poland (8-7). Howland 25-25-25, Fitch 23-22-19

HOWLAND — Katlyn Flick collected eight points, four aces and 13 kills while Taylor Summerfield tacked on six points, three aces and seven kills for the Tigers (15-2). Kelly Barzak bolstered the Howland attack with 12 points, five aces and seven kills. For the Falcons (2-14), Lindsay VonSchwartz was in with five kills, 14 assists and five blocks. Michelle Basista had 25 digs for Fitch. JVs: Fitch 25-22, 25-22.

Boardman 25-27-25, Liberty 16-25-19

BOARDMAN — Danielle Bletso and Kaleign Lipke set the pace for the Spartans (12-8). Bletsoe had 15 kills and 11 blocks, while Lipke added 12 kills and five blocks. Danielle Williams finished with 29 assists. Liberty (9-7) was led by Megan Kay with 16 kills and three blocks, while Ashley Venable added 12 kills and 16 digs. JVs: Boardman 25-11, 25-13.

Mathews 25-25-25, Ursuline 14-21-14

VIENNA — Junior Emily Pitzer had seven aces, six assists and 16 service points; junior Audrey Dodgson had four digs; junior Tilly Dickerson and sophomores Sara Hewitt and Brooke Pregibon had four kills apiece and Dickerson and junior Rachel Agne each had one block for Mathews (12-2). Tymira Stenson had seven blocks, two kills, two aces and six points, while Jackie Tondo-Steele had two aces, three assists, six digs and seven points for Ursuline. JVs: Mathews 25-16, 25-12

LEAVITTSBURG — Tiffany Olson had nine aces, 19 service points and five digs, while Olivia Wood contributed nine kills, two blocks and one ace for LaBrae (5-12) in a “Volley for the Cure” match that raised over $600 for the Susan Komen Foundation. For Maplewood (3-7), Rachel Ricek had 25 assists and Melissa Sloan produced six kills. JVs: LaBrae 25-25, Maplewood 8-10

COLUMBIANA — Freshman Lauren Mitchell had 27 serves, 11 aces and 11 assists; junior Brittany Richter registered 14 serves, 13 attack attempts and five kills; sophomore Kimberly Stearns had 10 attack attempts, seven kills and four digs and freshman Maria Shields had five digs for Heartland Christian (13-1). Heartland has won 10 in a row. The Lions’ only loss was to Sebring. Herlinda Talbott had seven points and two aces, while Tasha Cunningham had 11 attacks and three kills for Southern (2-15).
