BBB changes designation
YOUNGSTOWN — The Better Business Bureau now is using the term BBB Accredited Business in referring to a business affiliated with the organization. It replaces the term BBB Member.
Patricia Rose, BBB president, said the new designation highlights the fact that businesses affiliated with the BBB contractually agree to meet and uphold the organization’s standards for dealing with consumers.
“Accreditation clearly defines what a business has achieved, stands for and promises to consumers,” she said.
A survey conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates on behalf of BBB said seven in 10 consumers reported they would be more likely to buy from a BBB Accredited Business.
Also, the BBB is using a new logo and a new marketing tag line, “Start With Trust.” It also has redesigned its Web site.
