XGIRARD — The wedding of Amanda Ruby, a daughter of Pamela and Charles Ruby, 2977 Warren Ave., McDonald, and Jim Marrie, a son of James and Deborah Marrie, 7003 Marinthiana Ave., Youngstown, was an event of Aug. 25 at Girard First United Methodist Church.

The couple exchanged nuptial vows during a 1:30 p.m. ceremony officiated by the Rev. Doug Meek, and a reception was held in their honor later that day at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex Center in Liberty.

The bride’s A-line princess gown was trimmed with pearls, sequins and cutwork lace appliques and was styled with an off-the-shoulder neckline, cap sleeves and a chapel train.

After a two-week honeymoon on the Hawaiian island of Maui, they live at 770 Odevene Way, Delaware, Ohio.

Shannon Ruby, the honor attendant, wore a scarlet-red gown, as did the bridesmaids, Melissa Ruby, Shannon Marrie, Missy Marrie, Kcey Anthony, Casi Gonzalez and Malinda Ocasio.

The duties of best man were performed by Mike Hollabaugh, and serving as groomsmen were Slav Sarna, Jason Pedicini, Anthony Lordi, Tim Duble, Burr Wellington and Donny Ferko. Ring bearer was Justin Marrie.

The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. She is a branch manager with Chase Bank in Columbus. The groom is a physical therapist with Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. He earned a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy at YSU.
