CARD/BINGO PARTIES
• St. Brendan Altar and Rosary Society will hold an annual card party at 2 p.m. Sunday at Maxwell Hall, 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown. Patrons are asked to enter from the back parking lot. The cost is $5 and includes lunch.
• Infant Jesus of Prague Guild of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell, is sponsoring a card/bingo party Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. Donation is $4. A light lunch will be served.
• Altar and Rosary Society of St. Patrick Church, 255 N. Main St., Hubbard, will sponsor a card and bingo party from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets cost $5 and will be sold at the door. Featured will be a light lunch, table prizes, door prizes and a 50-50 drawing.
• Altar Guild of St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, is having a card and bingo party from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 21 in the church social hall. Featured will be a salad buffet, a special drawing and door prizes. Tickets cost $5 and are available from members of the guild, at the door or by calling the rectory at (330) 743-1109. Guests are asked to take their own cards.
CRAFT SHOWS
• Alliance Aviator Sports Boosters will hold a holiday craft show and sale Nov. 3 at Alliance High School. Vendors can rent space for the event for $30, and space for nonprofit organizations is $20. • The 14th annual LaBrae Craft Show will be held by parents of Boy Scout Troop 8 of Leavittsburg from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 at Bascom Elementary School, 1015 N. Leavitt Road, Leavittsburg. The kitchen will sell homemade sandwiches, salads, soups, desserts, pizza and hot dogs all day. Vendors may rent an 8-foot space for $12, with a table provided for an additional $8. • St. Rose Church, 48 East Main Street, Girard, plans a fall craft show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 13 in the school gym. Vendors are invited. • American Legion FDR Post 560, 103 12th St., Campbell, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Available will be furniture, antiques, small appliances, housewares, books, toys, clothing and miscellaneous items.
• Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., Boardman, will hold a trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday will be a $1 a bag sale of clothes.
• Campbell American Legion, 103 12th St., will hold a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
• Women Ministries of First Covenant Church is sponsoring its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the church, 5210 Glenwood Ave., Boardman. • First Covenant Church on the square in Bessemer, Pa., will hold its annual apple butter day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Apple butter will be sold, and visitors also may see it being made. There will also be crafts, baked goods and books for sale. Proceeds will benefit a mission trip next summer for the Appalachia Service Project, a nonprofit, youth-based project making emergency home repairs for needy people in the Appalachia region. • Women’s Ministry of Woodland Park United Methodist Church, 601 Ohio Ave., McDonald, is having its semiannual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
SPECIAL EVENTS
• St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Struthers-Coitsville Road, Coitsville, will mark Hispanic Heritage Month from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday during a Spanish Food Fest.
• Vienna Township Neighborhood Watch will sponsor a chili cook-off between the police and fire departments at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at Vienna Fire Station, 833 Youngstown Kingsville Road. Available at the family event will be chili, hot dogs, pie and other refreshments. There will be door-prize drawings, a 50-50 raffle, and goodie bags for the first 50 children. There will also be a demonstration of the Lifelite and information on the Lifelite project for Make a Difference Day.
