Ursuline center Michael Paul Jenkins was back in the starting lineup after missing last week’s 28-6 win over Columbus Bishop Ready. Jenkins injured his right leg two weeks ago in the third quarter of the 31-7 win over South Range.

His presence helped the Irish reel off three first downs on their first possession, but the 14-play drive ended in a John Colla punt.

The Irish’s second possession was anything but impressive. Holding and false start penalties had the Irish punting from their own territory after losing 24 yards.

However, the Flyers were unable to take advantage of taking the ball at the 50, keeping the game scoreless after a quarter.
