Ursuline scored on the second play of the second quarter when quarterback Lamar McQueen tossed a 76-yard touchdown pass to Dale Peterman, who broke free in the secondary, caught the ball at the Marion Local 35 and outran everyone the rest of the way. Mike Metzinger tacked on the extra point.

The pass play was a state finals record for Div. V.
