Tinseltown to show ‘Romeo et Juliette’

The Metropolitan Opera’s performance of Gounod’s “Romeo et Juliette” will be beamed live from New York to theaters worldwide, including Tinseltown in Boardman, at 1 p.m. Dec. 15.

Anna Netrebko and Roberto Alagna star in the opera, which will be conducted by Placido Domingo and beamed in a high-definition broadcast.

The broadcast is part of a series that the Met began last year, in which opera performances are beamed to theaters worldwide. This is the first year a Youngstown-area theater is involved.

Only the Dec. 15 opera — not the entire series — will be shown at Tinseltown.

Tickets are $22 ($20 for seniors, $15 for children); to order, go to metopera.org/hdlive or call (800) 638-6737.
